Job Summary:

Life's Good Stay Here is looking for the right person who is willing to provide a home for two or more of our clients. The Residential Service (RSP) Provider is responsible for providing care, support, and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) within a family-like environment. The primary goal is to enhance the quality of life for individuals with IDD by promoting independence, community inclusion, and personal growth within a supportive and nurturing family setting.

Our clients may need someone who has the ability to help and can use different mobility assist devices. These devices will assist in the positioning and moving of the client to different positions/ locations. You can receive a client that is 18 years of age or older.

Position Overview: The Residential Service Provider (RSP) Provider is responsible for providing care, support, and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) within a family-like environment. The primary goal is to enhance the quality of life for individuals with IDD by promoting independence, community inclusion, and personal growth within a supportive and nurturing family setting.

NOTICE to all applicants! We will be hosting the Licensing class on August 17th for those who are looking to get their home licensed. Keep in mind there are a lot of interested individuals so please be patient with us! We are always looking for Residential Service Providers and will not turn you down unless it's clear it wouldn't be a good fit.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide care, support, and assistance to individuals with IDD in a family-like environment 24/7 in your primary residence

  • Enhance the quality of life for individuals with IDD by promoting independence, community inclusion, and personal growth

  • Assist individuals with mobility using provided devices for positioning and movement

  • Acquire, improve, and retain skills in self-help, general household management, meal preparation, and personal finance management through habilitative services

  • Encourage and support full participation in home life and community by transporting individuals to community destinations

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Genuine desire to help and mentor others
Ability to provide a home for two or more clients
Knowledge and experience in working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
Proficiency in using mobility assist devices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

 

Requirements:
 

  • Must be at least 25 years old.

  • Able to effectively read, write, and communicate verbally in English, understand instructions, and perform record keeping.

  • Must have a reliable vehicle and safe driving record.

  • Must have a valid NC driver license and state minimum auto insurance.

  • Background checks will be performed on all applicants.

  • Not listed in the North Carolina Health Care Abuse registry.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must have basic computer skills.

  • May be required to pass a drug screen

  • Must pass a background check

About This Position:
 

  • RSP or Residential Service Provider is a type of Residential Support available to NC Innovations consumers.

  • An RSP is an individual or couple who chooses to provide Residential Support in their home. The RSP site (home) must be the primary residence of the Residential Service Provider. RSP is a comprehensive service individually designed to meet the needs of the client.

  • A Residential Service Provider receives payment for the services and support provided to the consumer. Residential Service Providers also receive reimbursement for room and board expenses of the consumer through a separate funding source.

  • Habilitative services focus on the individual's ability to reside as independently as possible in the community. The individual is assisted with acquiring, improving, and retaining skills in self-help, general household management, meal preparation, personal finance management, socialization, and other adaptive areas.

  • Assistance in activities of daily living is provided per the individual's needs. Full participation in home life and community is also encouraged and supported. Residential Service Providers transport the individual to and from the residence to community destinations.
